Eagle and Mouse

I heard recently that we need both eagle vision and mouse vision. Eagle Vision is our greatest hope for ourselves. It’s the big goals we set and the places we want to go, things we want to have, the way we want to be in the world. It is our big picture, our manifesto. It is LARGE! It has no ceiling, no limiting beliefs, no criticism, doubt or self loathing.

Mouse Vision is not that broad, distant, panned out perspective that Eagle Vision provides. It is instead limited to what is right in front of us. What is tangible, true and small. It is our next step.

The key is to get to your Eagle Vision with Mouse Vision steps. Baby steps that get you there over time. One step at a time. One day at a time.

Makes perfect sense!

Here’s one of my Eagle Vision Goals: I will hold myself in high esteem.

Here are my Mouse Vision Steps: 

1. I will welcome and accept all parts of me.
2. I will get curious about feelings, behavior patterns, and triggers.
3. I will write Love Letters to myself.
4. I will tell my story and own it with pride and humility.
5. I will show myself grace.
6. I will set boundaries.
7. I will trust my intuition.
