What a Difference

What a difference your practices make,
Your daily promises to Self,
Your routines and rituals.
Where once you were self critical
Lodging harsh accusations and words
At your imagined foibles and flaws,
You respond now with self compassion,
Reminding yourself that many of your thoughts and feelings,
Are default settings with faulty wiring,
And aren't surprising given your life experiences.
You walk in authenticity
More and more each day,
And are feeling the freedom and liberation of that.
You are letting yourself be seen and known
By those you love and who love you,
In a way your mask and shield did not allow for.
What a difference your practices make,
To you and everyone around you.
