The Journey Inward

Folly Beach at sunset,
Hand in hand they walk,
Bare feet in cool sand,
Pointing out a playful gull,
A scurrying crab.

He stops and turns to her,
Then drops on one knee.
Surprised, but not entirely,
She takes in his words,
Says "Yes!" and jumps into his arms.

They kiss,
While a woman aims her lens their way,
Careful not to intrude,
As she captures their moment,
For them and all who love them.

First love
Becomes true love
Becomes forever love.

And they continue their walk,
A sparkling symbol of eternity flashing,
As the last rays of Sun catch her hand.
