Snoop Dogg & Martha Stewart

Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.

I am obsessed with everything Olympics. I’m not reading, writing or emptying the dishwasher with any regularity because I’m locked in on everything from trap shooting to my beloved tennis. It was while watching dressage that the commentators mentioned that Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart were there. I’m not much of a celebrity person and don’t keep up on who’s hot and who’s not and who hangs with who, but this seemed an interesting pairing. It made me think of the people in my life I count on for a fresh perspective. Many of my friends are very similar to me, but it is those who live their lives so differently who tend to bring me the most growth. Then I learned that Snoop is afraid of horses and faced his fear by going to meet some of them. I have experienced tremendous growth in my life when I have chosen to face my fears, not just quickly fix a situation or avoid it. One of the greatest fears that I have faced in the past decade is showing up authentically, putting down my mask and being seen and known.
