snow falls
from beneath a silver sky
with flakes as large as cornflakes
whirling, swirling, twirling
in a choreographed waltz
past my window
no hustle or bustle
rushing out for milk or eggs
the world is strangely silent
as though we are all wrapped
in this blanket of peace and serenity
nature whispers, “pause, be still
delight in this moment
stay inside awhile
be gentle with yourself and one another
experience the profound calm”
