I wrote a poem once about loyalty
And gave it to someone I loved very much.
He read it, complimented it,
Even agreed with it.
But loyalty was not in his vernacular.

I have a friend
Who can be selfish, self absorbed,
And inconsiderate. 
I re-evaluate our friendship from time to time.
So far we’ve worked it out.

Uplift and enhance,
Not harm and injure.

Know it.
Feel it.
Live it.

Each day this month, I am reading and writing about an entry from gentle reminders:  SIMPLE TRUTHS FOR A MEANINGFUL LIFE by Dodinsky.  This book was given to me after my divorce by a friend, with this inscription: "Let your soul sparkle."
