Earlier this week, my 4th grade writers and I played with repetitive poems. This is a silly one I wrote about a day last summer when my tip fell off.
Little pink nail,
where did you go?
Little pink nail,
your family misses you,
all nine of us!
Little pink nail,
were you tired of being part of a set,
instead of standing out on your own?
Little pink nail,
were you tired of staying home all the time,
rooted to this place?
Did you yearn for adventure
away from our hand home?
Did you want to test your independence
to see what you could do?
Little pink nail,
where did you go?
Little pink nail,
your family misses you,
all nine of us!
The kids got a kick out of this one and we talked about how silly, every day things make for great creative writing ideas!
