The Journey Inward

Easing into summertime,
electrified by a week of professional development in DC up first,
embracing the freedom of flexibility for day trips, weekend trips, seeing friends, doing nothing,
energizing my soul with time for hobbies and interests and WIMBLEDON,
enjoying cherry season, both red and white varieties,
exhaling structure and constraints,
shrugging off a difficult and disappointing end to the school year,
expanding my comfort zone with new experiences,
exploring the West Coast with my girls,
finding humor all around me,
generating ideas as I get inspired,
grounding my thinking through normalization,
honoring my coveted time alone,
illuminating my principles and boundaries around politics and policies involving inhumane treatment,
indulging whims instead of living conventionally,
infusing levity into my daily relationships,
and integrating the parts of me that have been silenced too long.
