Manzanita, Day 16

We set aside this day to hop on the 101 South to Manzanita. The views were stunning and we pulled off at countless little beaches to hike a trail or walk by the sea.

Seeing elk was a real highlight! None with antlers, though.
This trail to Devil’s Cauldron was through a sweet meadow. I think this might have been my very favorite scene of the whole trip, and that’s saying a lot!
We enjoyed popping in and out of stores in Manzanita and sat above the beach eating lunches we had packed. Nehalem Bay was a quick drive from there, and we enjoyed sitting on a picnic table watching the different boats.
We went to Hug Point on the way back and saw a small waterfall and lots of wonderful caves! The wind was whipping and we were chilly cold!
My daughter had to check in at work quickly, so I went to Astoria Brewing and had one of their hazy IPAs while overlooking the Columbia river. Tasted great after mowing her lawn with a 3 wheeled lawnmower this afternoon! 😮‍💨
We had a yummy dinner at the Fort George Brewery and walked around Astoria one last time.
Tonight’s sunset was at the same beach where we watched our first.
And two more of the Peter Iredale shipwreck circa 1906.

We’re both a bit bushed tonight!!
