The Journey Inward

My dear friend and co mother in law came to visit from Colorado, and I was anxious to show her all my favorite places. I’m not sure that even Sara’s advanced level of fitness prepared her for the whirlwind I exposed Her to. For it was a bit of a goodbye tour for me as well.

We walked my neighborhood and town, and I pointed out my favorite homes, one of our district schools, yards and flowers I love, the houses on our local historical tour, the houses where I served as docent, the worlds fair house, the stangl pottery kiln, the house where sjp filmed her first acting job, and the places I visited as a child.

We enjoyed sweet Melissa’s and visited Clinton’s iconic downtown. We explored the river towns of Frenchtown, Stockton, Lambertville and New Hope.

We went to my favorite places to eat and get tea and visited my favorite brewery. We saw live music four times in one day, including the jazz festival in town.

In between we talked and talked and talked and talked! I even let her go to bed early!

I’ve been out to see Sara twice in her habitat, but it was so wonderful sharing some of my last days in New Jersey with her.
