Cold and Wet

Apparently, it was quite hot in Pretoria last week. Over the weekend we got some much needed rain and it felt like maybe the rainy season was beginning. Last night there were thunderstorms all night and then today it rained all day, sometimes quite hard. It was the first day of inside recess for the students.

I didn’t think William would make it today because of the weather, but when I got home at 4:45, there he was, cleaning up. He had planted in all my flowers and shrubs, even dividing them to make them stretch further! They looked so good! He had borrowed Ellen’s bike to be able to get around quicker in this rain.

It’s also quite chilly today, never getting above 17 degrees Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit). A teacher said this was as cold as winter here. That made me feel good, because although it was raw, given the right clothes, I’ll take this as winter weather!!

  1. We had a short thunderstorm and the temps have gone from the high 89″s to the low 60’s after the storms passed. I enjoyed the video. Your plants look nice and green.

      1. You are welcome. It is exciting to watch plants grow. Especially the ones we plant and take care of.
