MOFY fans will enjoy that title!
So, what to say today? I thought I’d mention some interesting house observations. Mine and the few others I’ve seen the interior of. First, closets are not rooms you walk into if you’re lucky enough, or set back into the wall. Instead, they’re freestanding cabinetry. Although it takes up floor space, I quite enjoy it! These are the closets in my bedroom…
Bedrooms typically have one outlet, so furniture arrangement is somewhat limited. Or you have to invest in extension cords. And a multiplug strip. Which brings me to smoke detectors. Nope. Pair that with the skeleton keys you need to use to get out of your house, and it’s not the best fire escape plan!
The houses in my development are close together and all have their own walls around them. This seems pretty common. My one friend, Maria’s house has the biggest and most private lot I’ve seen. Her section of that development is considered to be estates. Most of my colleagues live in attached houses. I’m one of the few in a freestanding house.
Your oven/stove has an on/off switch nearby if you’re lucky, or discovered through a scavenger hunt if you’re me. Many homes have kitchens in two parts. For example, my fridge, sink and clothes washer are in the kitchen, along with cabinets. My oven is in the dining room with more cabinetry. My neighbor, Sue has her sink. fridge and cabinets in the dining area. Through an archway, she has her sink and more cabinets.
The majority of homes have neither heat nor air conditioning. People will buy fans and space heaters, but it’s mostly a sign of the temperate climate. It’s Spring here and the first night in my house was quite warm, but lately it’s been chilly and I wrap myself in a blanket under my duvet!
Ending with a cute Henry picture…
