I am reading It’s Trevor Noah: Born a Crime, Stories from a South African Childhood. Early on in the book, he gives what I think is a simple and brief history of how it came to be. I get a lot of questions about Afrikaners, so I thought this was a good excerpt to share to understand the many cultures here. When people introduce themselves, they almost always share their parents’ home countries.
