The Journey Inward

The third leg of my holiday break had me saying goodbye to my oldest and middle daughters and their partners after 11 days and boarding a plane for Portland. My youngest picked me up late Sunday night, and we got home and crashed. Her little home is adorable. Her two roommates were away, so we had a sweet week together. She had to work some days, so I would go into town, start my day at a Cafe reading, go for my walk, do some shopping, and on days where they were conducting training, I was able to watch from the shores of the Columbia River. Although I took many pictures of the training, I’m not allowed to post any, but it was an incredible experience. people were gathered along the shore, watching and taking pictures and videotaping. Children were in awe. Many people were worried and concerned, and conspiracy theories abounded!

All week we were on the lookout for elk, which are so common there. We never saw any, and then today she sent me a video of them parading down her street at night!
