After a relaxing last morning in the apartment, I took an Uber into town to drop off my keys and then walked one last time with my luggage to African Roots, my favorite Cafe. My sweet new friend, Asiya welcomed me in and made suggestions and food to order, treating me like long list family. I bookended my meal with a dirty chai and a masala chai that was delicious. I enjoyed sitting and reading and chatting with her.
Walter picked me up out front at 11:15 in his huge Hilux truck, and we made our way down the coast. The views were absolutely gorgeous.
I was supposed to be flying back for a wedding tomorrow, but it had been canceled. Walter told me that he was interested in buying a house on the south coast in Palm Beach, so we hatched this plan.
It was a little over a 2 hour drive when we pulled into the little hamlet of log cabins. The one he wants to buy is at the end. The couple was home so we chatted with them for a bit. The wife and I sat on the back porch and took in the magnificent view of the river flowing right into the ocean. She seemed so sad to be leaving this place and going up north to care for her mother-in-law.
Walter loved the place and we spent a good while there. I took a lot of pictures and video for him and I absolutely adored his Realtor. She and I hit it off and had so many laughs. I accused her of staging the entire neighborhood because everyone was so friendly.
Afterwards we went and checked in at our glamping site in Trafalgar (lots of British names around). The tent/cabin was fabulous! We dropped our stuff and walked to the beach, which was just on the other side of the lagoon and some woods from our back porch.
The beach was pretty empty and we walked a ways in both directions. We could see up to “his” cabin from the beach. Angelique told me that the whales would come and then go up to Mozambique to have their babies and bring them back before moving onto to Australia. I don’t think Walter will ever have the same view twice.

That night we went to dinner at The Wreck, which was right on the beach. It was delicious, and my beer was immense! Some kitties came to sit with me at the end of our meal.

Walter’s view…
It had begun to rain during dinner and when we got back to the tent, there was no electricity. We did our best with flashlights. I enjoyed the outside shower. I slept well to the sound of frogs and crickets and birds.
