Night Out

On Thursday night, we gathered at Doppio‘s in Hazelwood to celebrate Maria‘s birthday. She just set the date and time and place and asked for people to show up. It was such a fun event. We now know several people in common, which feels good, and I know her three daughters, but I also met some new people, as well. Maria is always a good time and tells it straight, which I enjoy!

Yuri and I left a bit early because we were heading to his event, down the rabbit hole at Katy’s in Johannesburg. The upstairs venue has a young vibe, with current music, a young crowd, and not as much dancing. It’s kind of a See and Be Seen thing.

Downstairs was more our speed. Yuri‘s group, plus his friend Warren‘s group (who are predominantly Johannesburg), met up there and I again had people I knew and people I met. It was a bit of a slow start to the night, but Yuri and I both made requests and as we entered the second hour, the music definitely picked up. We danced the entire night.
