Sunday with Sue

I picked up Sue last Sunday morning and we headed to one of her favorite cafés about 15 minutes from our houses. Chocolate et Cafe is a nursery, café, and event venue in Lynnwood. As with almost everything, South Africa, it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I found it so charming and the food was delicious. I had a bobotie, a South African dish of spiced minced meat, which I had in an omelette.

We sat and chatted for hours in the beautiful weather and did lots and lots of catching up! The woman behind us was having a slice of carrot cake. She said she and her dog come almost every week for a slice. That’s all we needed to hear to give it a try. Believe it or not, that was one serving cut in half for us!

I took the other half of my omelette and boxed it along with a slice of Sue’s flatbread that she didn’t want. The box sat beside us as we chatted and it wasn’t until we were getting ready to leave that I realized it was full of ants!

Yet another stellar Cafe in South Africa!
