National Poetry Month: Epitaph for Fear

Here lies
   feelings of failure,
   thoughts of threats,
   angst about acceptance,
   doubt about differences,
   mistrust of manifestation,
   wonder about worthiness,
   anxiety about what awaits,
   apprehension about aging,
   concern about catastrophe,
   care about containing myself,
   bother about being "too much,"
   burden over not being enough,
   skepticism about surrendering it,
worry what others might think of me,
fret over the "shoulds," "coulds," and "what ifs."
Here lies fear,
May it rest and leave me at peace.
