For the month of June, I am flipping through Clarity and Connection, by Yung Pueblo daily and randomly stopping at a page and reading. I am using the entry to delve into my thoughts and feelings, find what resonates, and see what answers it might hold for me. It is an exercise in building my Intuition, making space for creativity, and journeying inward so that I might know myself and others better.
"may all of the times that someone has made an incorrect assumption about you activate a new sense of humility and patience in your mind that stop you from doing the same thing to another person in the future." So many times in my life, fear of rejection, of not belonging, of not being enough, of being too much, of being hurt, or feeling threatened have led me to size others up too quickly, to judge them, to strike before I'm struck. Too many times I've made assumptions based on past experience. I know how invalidating it feels to be misunderstood, to be judged and dismissed, to have assumptions made about me, and carry those scars deep within me. This passage is a gentle reminder to use empathy to guide my interactions, not fear. To lead with love.
