Who Will Take Care of Me?

The lighthouse stands at attention on the shore, watching over brave, seafaring souls
exploring both the known and unknown with confidence because of her
        presence.

"Who was my lighthouse? Who watched over me?" the man wails, the pain of
childhood abandonment broiling from his very core.
"Who made sure I was safe, saw me home, was my beacon in this turbulent sea of
life?" he demands. Alcohol had made certain it was not his mother.

"I am your lighthouse," a voice whispers, quiet but strong.
"I will care for you-I will witness you, welcome you. I am your touchstone. Return to
me again and again. I will always be here."
"Who are you?" the man cries out; then recognition dawns. The magical, lyrical voice
is his own, comforting from deep within. It's been waiting for him.
