Bloom

Inside of a bloom is a bud, straining to expand,
And inside of a bud is a seed, anxious to travel,
And inside of a seed is destiny, an ordained path,
And inside of destiny is free will, the agency to choose,
And inside of free will is manifestation, a pure focus,
And inside of manifestation is steps, taken one at a time,
And inside of steps is willingness, a desire to move forward,
And inside of willingness is fear - What if I'm wrong?!
And inside of fear is a critic, professing doom and gloom,
And inside of a critic is a parent, showing love through control,
And inside of a parent is a human, fallible, with faults,
And inside of a human is a promise, an aptitude or talent,
And inside of a promise is longing, wanting more,
And inside of longing is a bloom, a magnificent masterpiece.

  2. Beautiful photo and quite a remarkable poem. I love how the lines build on each other, the repetition, and the way the meaning of bloom transforms at the end. Really great writing!
