What do you see when you look at this?
Is it a bowler, a person wearing sunglasses, 
Or something else?

What do you see when you look at me?
Is it a middle aged woman, a frazzled dog owner,
Or something else?

What do we see when we look at another?
Is it judgment, envy,
Or something else?

Looks can be deceiving, they don't show the truth,
So many of us wear masks so you 
See something else.

Isn't it exhausting? Isn't it a bore?
To pretend and perform,
To be someone else?

Today I will try to be who I am, 
Dress as I wish, feel as I do.
Just be myself.
