Moon Poem

I step outside
Into the dark, dark night.
Blackness surrounds me,
And I see nothing.

But then a shape,
An outline-
My daughter's tree,
The backyard fence,
The birdbath.

My eyes adjust
and I know why.
The silvery moon
Peeks out from behind a cloud,
And soon nighttime
Is revealed to me.

  1. In the moonlight, the shape of the heart is revealed, when the light within, eclipses the darkness! Nice share!
