Solitude

Late in the night,
Or just past midnight,
When all around are asleep,
The house silent and the town mum,
I move with ease about the place,
Loving the feeling of being alone.
Penning poems and writing my thoughts,
Reading avidly or looking through pictures,
I relish memories, crave the creativity,
Release burden and expectation,
And descend into peace.
Peace.

  2. I love to see such a beautiful depiction of what our alone time brings. Solitude is a treasure that needs to be celebrated. I didn’t realise I craved to release burden and expectation until I read that line! Wonderful x
