Perfectionism

If I'm perfect, surely I can avoid shame, blame, judgment,
and the disapproval of others, and if I don't
achieve that, it was because I wasn't perfect
enough. Fear of failure, fear of risk
taking, missed opportunities, life paralysis, playing
it safe to stay cool.
What a waste of
a life to
manage an
image.

Vulnerability
is the
answer to perfectionism,
opening up to see
that the human experience is
universal, and that the antidote is
self compassion, kindness, tenderness, acceptance, and love
toward all the parts of us that are
perfectly imperfect, not inadequacies. We reach for courage and
connection to celebrate our individuality and share our unique perspectives.
