These Two

These two,
Like adorable, fluffy bookends,
They can be found on either end of the couch,
On either side of me in bed,
Or perched on the porch ottoman,
Taking in the sights and sounds of the street.

These two,
Like children frozen in time,
Never aging beyond toddlers,
With boundless energy,
Unceasing curiosity,
And a pesky penchant for mischief.

These two,
Like old friends,
Loving me as I am,
With no expectations,
Keeping constant company,
And always excited to see me.

These two,
All that is best in this world,
Playful and enthusiastic,
Friendly and welcoming,
Loving and sensitive,
Exactly what this world needs more of.

      1. You’re welcome and while I have your attention, at least one of comments to you a while back may have dropped in spam. 😒
