Orchids

Petals so soft and sumptuous,
Colors delight and astound,
Such variety of shape, size and brilliance,
But it is the center that grabs my attention,
Makes me lean in for closer study,
For within is both the masculine and feminine,
And I am in awe of the structure and function.
