Student Led Conferences

Our school held student-led conferences over the course of a week. This was an opportunity for our students to show their parents around the classroom, highlight their favorite things, share their grows and glows, their work, and their processes.

It was so helpful as a teacher to stand back and listen to what they chose to share, how they explained it, and how they answered questions. It was also enlightening to hear what the parents asked and pointed out.

I’m so proud of my students for the progress that they’ve made this year and it was a pleasure to stand back and let these families enjoy our classroom together.

It was a lot of work preparing, and having the students feel confident and be able to zero in on what they wanted to say, but I hope they felt empowered by the choice and agency they were given.
