The Journey Inward

I took a beautiful hike in The Hills with spectacular views of Pretoria and surprising run-ins with wildlife. I listened to the song Wildflowers by Tom Petty, which seems the perfect anthem for a solo hike. I was speaking to my daughter on the phone at the end when I encountered zebras in my path. They were to the left and right, as well. I didn’t want to walk through the grass in case I encountered snakes, so I eventually stamped my foot and they cleared the way!
